HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION MINUTES
December 14, 2017
The Van Buren Historic District Commission held its monthly meeting oa Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 5.30 P.M. in
the City Council Room of the Municipal Complex.
Members Present•. Chairman Lisa Willis, Vice Chairman Vickie Davis, Paul Gibson and Derald Porter. Others Prescnc.
Catherine Barrier, CLG Coordinator, Larry and Hazel Bedell. Chairman Lisa Willis called the meeting to order at 5:45
p.m. First item on the agenda was for approval of the minutes. A motion was made by Derald Porter and seconded by
Paul Gibson to accept the minutes. The motion was approved unanimously.
The next item on the agenda was fox COA#I1-2017, Larry and Hazel Bedell, 719 Main Street, Larry B's Rhythm Room.
Paul Gibson will be doing the work on the building so he recused himself from voting and helped present with Mr.
Bedell to the commission. Mx. Bedell is proposing to change the outside facade colors to the following; Beau Port
Aubergine and Jewett White. The signs dimensions are 3'xl' on the sidewalk and 10'x2' for the building. The same
colors will be used on the signs. Theroof will be changed from brown to black A motion was made by Vickie Davis
and seconded by Derald to approve the colors on the facade, planters, signs and too£ The motion was approved
unanimously.
Next item on the agenda was an update from Paul Gibson concerning the spring training with Bob Yapp. Paul will email
Mx. Yapp concerning dates in the fall of 2018 instead of the spring, due to CLG funds being available at drat time. The
dates we. are possibly looking into axe September 21 and 22°d or latex.
The next item on the agenda was Catherine Barrier, CLG Coordinator, AHPP. Ms. Barrier presented a power point
about allthe programs and giants available through the AHPP. A motion was made by Paul Gibson and seconded by
Vickie Davis to adjourn the meeting.
