The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hurst, On roll call, the Iollowing Council members answered as their names were called: Council Member Bell,Dodson, Osburn and Wood. City Attorncy.Iacob Howell and Deputy City Clerk Connie Hyatt were present. Council Member Petty and Kneeland were absent, This made a total of seven (7)present. A quorum was declared. Mayor Hurst asked if there was any discussion. Mayor I turst stated thatcher the May 3"tornado we had Van Huren City clews going out to clear the streets and picking up neighborhood curbside debris. This is something that we would normally provide to the city. Mayor IIurst also stated that we did not have the equipment of manpower to handle the cleanup which is why we contracted it out. Mayor Hurst stated that the cost of the cleanup from the May 3rd Tornado, will hopefully be less than half million dollars. Mayor IIurst stated that the State Emergency Management would provide 35% rvimbursement and that we Would not be receiving any finds from FEMA. Council Member Bell seconded by Council Member Wood moved that the Resolution be adopted. The Clerk read the Ordinance in its entirety. Council Member Osborn moved that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on its second reading. The motion was seconded by Council Member Wood. The Council followed with a unanimous vole. The Clerk then road the Ordinance the second time. Mayor Hurst asked Mr. Bailey to explain the process. Mayor Hurst stated the north cast side of town has been growing. Council Member]tell asked if this was for duplexes. Mr. Bailey stated it is for single dwelling but is zoned for duplexes also. Mr. Bailey also slated there were 84 lots-in this rezone. Council Member Wood asked it this was mirroring the northwest side, Mr. Bailey said yes that is correct. The Mayor then put the question, "Shall the Ordinance pass?" Motion was made by Council Mcmber Bell and seconded by Council Member Wood to adopt the Ordinance as amended. On the Clerk's calling the roll, the following vote resulted: AYLS—Council Member Dodson, Bell, Wood, and Osbum. NAYS- None. 'rhe Mayor declared the motion carried as there were four(4) AYFS and zero(0)NAYS. For (4)votes being necessary for passage.
