The first item on the agenda was to approve the minutes from the November meeting. A motion
was made by Derald Porter and seconded by Cathy Gifford to approve the minutes. The motion
was approved unanimously.
The next item on the agenda was the Mount Olive Church/Gant House update. Catherine Barrier
suggested looking for information on membership and minutes or find history or something done
with the committee. Catherine will look to see if anyone at the AHPP office knows where to search.
Maybe we can reach out on social media to see if anyone local has information on Mount Olive.
Derald, Julie and Catherine went through the Paul Gant house before the meeting. She is concerned
the stucco is not original to the house and could be a deal breaker on qualifying under criteria A for
architectural. Need to get the roof tatped by the city to stop the water damage.
New/Old Business: Shelia Bell spoke to the commission about being mindful of 200' birthday of
Crawford County in 2020. Maybe Van Buren can celebrate with the county since it will be 175 years
old. Possibly have a fall festival and merchants on Main Street. It will be on October 18, 2020. Last
item was Catherine Barrier, CLG Coordinator, for a train ng session for the Historic District
Co lion for Onlij Ix fotrnaqon Resources from the Depart of ArkaWas Heritage,
