The initiative was proposed by the Fire and Police departments as they identified a number City streets that present problems and potential problems with their ability to adequately respond to emergencies. The Planning Commission held three(3)public meetings and two (2)public hearings on the proposed Ordinance. Additionally the Press Argus Courier published an article on Saturday, August 29, 2020. The only public input I have received were from citizens that wanted more added because of problems in their neighborhood. The Ordinance is amending an existing City Ordinance prohibiting on street parking on certain streets and includes a new list of all applicable streets; a requirement that signage be placed on all streets notifying the public of the parking restriction and amending the current fine amount from not more than$25.00 to not more than$250.00. After the public hearing at the October 6, 2020,public hearing the Planning Commission voted to recommend the Ordinance to the City Council. Please contact me if you have any questions.
