ORD NO 10-2001 CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS ORDINANCE NO. /0 -2001 AN ORDINANCE ALLOWING AN EXCEPTION TO THE MORATORIUM ON THE PLACEMENT OF SIGNS IN THE CITY OF VAN BUREN. WHEREAS, The City Council issued a Moratorium on the placement of signs in the City of Van Buren for a period of sixty -three (63) days; and WHEREAS, Certain signs received approval for placement in the City, either from State or local authorities, prior to the enactment of the Moratorium; and WHEREAS, The Council feels there should be an exception to the Moratorium for those signs that received approval of an administrative body prior to the Moratorium, either State or local; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: THAT signs that received approval of an administrative body prior to the Moratorium, either State or local, are exempt from the 0 requirements of the Moratorium. SECTION 2: EMERGENCY CLAUSE. That this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, it shall be in full force and effect from the date of its passage.
