BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN
ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
ENTER INTO A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR
MIKE MEYER PARK DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, Hawkins Weir Engineering,Inc.,acting as the Project Engineer for the City of
Van Buren,Arkansas has advertised for bids for construction of drainage
improvements inside Mike Meyer Park;and
WHEREAS, bids have been received and opened in accordance with Arkansas law and
low bidders meeting the bid specifications have been determined.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF VAN
BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a construction
contract with Silco Construction,Inc. in the amount not to exceed
$184,170.00(exhibit"A")for the Mike Meyer Park Drainage Improvement
Project and to pay all expenses relating to this project.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the City of Van Buren,Arkansas,by its City Council,
did pass,approve,and adopt,by a vote of S for and C) aga'nst,the foregoing Resolution
at its Special meeting held on the 1st day of February 2018.

Six (6) bids were received on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, for the referenced project.
Enclosed is a copy of the certified bid tabulation. The low bid was submitted by Silco Construction,
Inc. for a total contract price of$184,170.00. This low bid is less than the engineer's estimate of
$216,710.00. Therefore, we recommend that a construction contract for the referenced project
be awarded to the low bidder, Silco Construction, Inc., for a total contract price of$184,170.00.
