RESOLUTION NO. (O - o2 -2017
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE AN AMENDMENT TO THE VAN
BUREN ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 7-1963, AND TO REFER
CHANGES TO THE PERMITTED & CONDITIONAL USE
LEGEND TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR STUDY AND
RECOMMENDATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City adopted Ordinance No. 25-1997 as an amendment to the Van Buren Zoning
Ordinance No. 7-1963,to provide for regulations for the granting of conditional uses
within established zones; and
WHEREAS, article IX of Zoning Ordinance No. 7-1963, provides that when the Van Buren City
Council desires to initiate amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, such proposals shall be
referred to the Planning Commission for study and recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Conditional Use Legend to re-classify retail
pharmacies as permitted uses instead of conditional uses in the I-1(Light Industrial
District)and I-2 (Heavy Industrial District)zones.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: The Van Buren City Council recommends to the Planning Commission to study the
following amendment to the Conditional Use Legend and to conduct a public hearing
regarding the following amendment, and to make recommendations back to the City
Council regarding the following amendment:

approve, and adopt, by a vote of 4 for and 0 against,the foregoing Resolution at its regular meeting
held on the 26th day of June 2017.
