RES NO 08-01-2014 CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS RESOLUTION NO. - L - 2014 BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO REMOVE CERTAIN FIXED ASSETS FROM THE CITY OF VAN BUREN'S FIXED ASSET INVENTORY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren has certain fixed assets on its Fixed Asset Inventory List which were placed on the Fixed Asset Inventory in error;and WHEREAS, after an inventory of the fixed assets, it is therefore recommended by our State Auditor that said item be removed from the City's Fixed Asset Inventory. O w O l o : 1166 arbie Curtis .' .ice A.Settle City Clerk/Treasurer City Attorney MEMORANDUM TO: City Council Members FROM: Mayor's Office DATE: August 13, 2014 RE: Agenda Item#4 Fixed Asset Removal Recently we upgraded the video surveillance system at the complex and in doing so we had to acquire a new DVR to accommodate the additional cameras. When we installed the original system it was placed on fixed assets as a system and associated with the serial number of the old DVR. That should never have happened. Only the DVR itself should have been listed on fixed assets. This resolution is to correct that action. We will drop the "system" by council action. We will then through administrative action, add back the DVRs by themselves which does not require council action. Mayor Freeman
