ORD NO 02-1964 ORDINANCE NO. 2 -1964
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed with the City Council of
the City of Van Buren, Arkansas on the 3rd day of February 1TI:
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon all that por of
certain streets and allays described as follows:
1. All that portion of 18th street, listed as 17th L
in the Meyer Heights Plat, lying South of East Main Street being
all the platted street lying between blocks 3 and 6 and between
blocks 5 and 4, Meyer Heights Addition to the City of VEn Etren.
2. All that portion of Baltimore street lying between block
3 and block 4 in Meyer Heights Addition to the City of Van Buren,
Arkansas.
3. All alleys located within Blocks 3 and within block 4
within block 4 Moyer Heights Addition to the City f
Arkansas.
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law the counr *1 has
at the time and place m :ntioned in the notice heard all pe: :2ons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained tr. thn
portion of sand streets and alleys hereinafter described hr9 here-
tofore been designated to the public use and that the same 'iac not
been actually used by the public generally for a period of at'
least five years subsequent to the filing of petition that 911
owner's of the property abutting upon the portion of the streets and
alleys to be vacated have petitioned the City Council repur -tino
such abandonment and the public interest and welfare will not be
adversely affected by the abandonment of such alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BYTthe City Council of the City
of Van Buren, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of Van Buren, Arkansas hereby releases,
vacates and abandons all its rights together with the rights of the
public generally in and to the streets and alleys above desr-

SECTION 2. All that portion of 18th street, designated on
the plat of Meyer Heights Addition as 17th street, lying and being
located between Lot 6 in Block 3 and Lot 1 in Block 6 Meyer Heights
Addition shall from and after this date be the seperote property of
Boyd D. Smith and Rose Lee Smith; all the remaining portion of the
streets and alleys hereinabove vacated shall from and after this
date.be the seperato property of Doylc Hopkins.
SECTIONS 3. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified by the
City Clerk and Town Recorder, shall be filed in the Office of the
Recorder of the County and recorded in the deed records of the
County.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
