ORD NO 05-1970 ORDINANCE 910. S 1970 An Ordinance prohibiting mobile vehicles from being parked morn: than 24 hours on city streets, right -of -way, or on any street at any time in such a manner as to create a traffic hazard. Providing penalty and provision for removal. Whereas, the people are getting tired of blocked streets 'by old junk cars, without licence, being parked day after day, week after week, and month after month, and L Whereas, the streets are for the movement of vehicles. New therefore be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas. Section 1. No vehicle shall be allowed to be parked on the right -of -way of the City Streets of the City of Van Buren, for more 0 than twenty -four (24) hours. Section 2. No vehicle shall be allowed to be parked at any time in such away as to create a traffic hazard and to interfere with the movement of traffic. Section 3. Any person, firm, or corporation violating the provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than $5.00, nor more than $50.00. Section 4. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to remove 0 or cause to be removed from the streets and public places of the City any vehicle parked thereon in violation of this or any other Ordinances of the City or laws of the State of Arkansas; or any wrecked vehicle following an accident when it is necessary that sa_:. wrecked vehicle be moved to prevent a traffic hazard. Section 5. Any owner of any automobile so removed shall be liable for the payment of wrecker and storage service and shall pay such charges before the car is released in addition to any fine such owner may be liable for as a result of parking the car in violation of the.
