CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS
An Ordinance confirming the acceptance of certain territories adjacent and
contiguous to the present limits of said City, located in Crawford County, Arkansas

t -which was annexed to the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, by order of the County Court
on the 15th day of May, 1975, and the plat is approved.
Also, providing that the property of Mike Meyer and Fred McLean come into the
City zoned as Open Zone I.
That the property of Bekeart Steel Wire Corporation come into the City of
Van Buren, Arkansas, zoned as Industrial II Zone, and to grant the Bekaert Steel Wire
Corporation a variance to allow them to construct buildings taller than thirty -five
(35) feet in. height.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE City of Van Buren, Arkansas, to wit:
1. That the following property adjacent and contiguous to the present City,
located in Crawford County, Arkansas, to wit:
All of Section 14, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, South of right -of -way of
Interstate 40, and West of the central line of Lee Creek, not now in the City
of Van Buren, Arkansas.
All of Section 23, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, West of the center line of
Lee Creek and North of the Arkansas River.
All of Section 22, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, North of the Arkansas River.
The East half of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, South of the
right -of -way line of Lee Creek Interchange and the East half of the Southwest
Quarter of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, South of the South right
of -way line of the proposed County Road which is South of the Interstate 40
right -of -way, and the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 15,
Township 9 North, Range 32 West. The plat is approved, and the City of Van Buren,
Arkansas, confirms and accepts the above described land as annexed by order of the
County Court on the 15th day of May, 1975.
2. That the petition of Mike Meyer and Fred McLean to come into the City of
Van Buren, as Open I Zone, of the following described property, to wit:
All of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, South of the right -of -way of
Interstate 40 and West of the center line of Lee Creek, not now in the City
of Van Buren, Arkansas.
All of Section 23, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, West of the center line of
Lee Creek and North of the Arkansas River.
All of Section 22, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, North of the Arkansas River.
The East half of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, North of the right
of -way of Lee Creek Interchange and Interstate 40.
is granted.
3. That the petition of Bekaert Steel Wire Corporation is come into the City
of Van Buren, Arkansas, Zoned as Industrial Zone II, of the following described property,
to wit:

The Northeast Southwest Quarter of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 32 West,
South of the proposed County Road and the Lee Creek Interchange.
The Southwest Southwest and the Southeast Southwest of Section 15, Township 9 North,
Range 32 West.
The West half of Section 22, Township 9 North, Range 32 West, North of the
Arkansas River.
is granted.
4. That the petition of Bekaert Steel Wire Corporation for a variance to
allow them to construct buildings higher than thirty -five (35) feet, on the property
described in Paragraph 3, above, is granted.
5. That by reason of the immediate necessity of the completion of the annexation
of the above described property, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of peace, health.and safety, an emergency is
declared to exist and shall take effect and be enforced from and after, this passage and
approval.
