ORD NO 10-1976 ORDINANCE NO. 1976 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 3 -1967, WHICH CREATED AN ELECTRICAL EXAMINING BOARD, AND PROVIDING FOR LICENSING ELECTRICIANS AND OTHER PURPOSES AS AMENDED. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: SECTION I: That Section 16 is amended as follows towit: A. There will be added as the first paragraph to said Section 16 the following: Applications for Electrical Permits shall be accompanied by an adequate description of the work to be performed, which may include plans and specifications of the material to be installed if deemed necessary by the Electrical Inspector. The Electrical Inspector may require applications to be made not less than twenty four (24) hours prior to the time the permit is needed. All Electrical Permits shall be obtained before work is started. B. That the present first paragraph of said Section 16 shall be amended to add a penalty clause of ten per cent (10 of the balance due if not paid by the 30th day of the following month. C. That sub paragraph (a) Section 16 is amended to provide for a minimum fee of Two Dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) for each and every inspection made by the inspector and /or his duly authorized assistants. D. That sub paragraph (p) is amended to provide for a penalty of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) for late application when any electrical work shall be commenced before application is made for a permit. 0 SECTION II: That Section 11 is amended to add a new paragraph "H" as follows: Failure to renew Electrical License for a period of one calendar year shall constitute forfeiture of said Electrical License and reinstatement of license shall consist of approval by the Electrical Board and upon approval the original examination fee will be required for reinstatement of Electrical License thereof. SECTION III: That Section 11 Paragraph E be amended as follows: Annual renewal fees shall be five dollars ($5.00) for a Master Electrician, Journeyman Wireman, or Maintenance Electrician; and a fee of $2.50 for Apprentice Wireman license. 0 SECTION IV: That Section 5 is amended to read as follows: Apprentice Wireman shall work under the direct and personal supervision of a Licensed Electrician and be registered with the Chief Electrical Inspector of the City. There shall be no more than two (2) apprentice wiremen working under each Licensed Electrician. SECTION V: That by reason of the immediate necessity of protecting the community an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace,health and safety shall take effect and be in force from after its passage, approval and publication.
