AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX FOR CITY GENERAL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1977,
FOR THE PUBLIC LIBRARY AND FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE GENERAL OBLIGATION MULTIPLE
PURPOSE IMPROVEMENT BONDS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, that:
SECTOION 1. The rate of all real and personal property in Van Buren, Arkansas
for the year 1977, for general municipal purposes under the authority of Section
4,Article XII of the Constitution of 1874 of the State of Arkansas be, and the
same is hereby affixed, at five (5) mills on the dollar of the assessed valuation
of all real and personal property subject to taxation in the City of Van Buren,
Arkansas, for the year 1977, for general municipal purposes.
SECTION 2. The rate of all real and personal property in the City of Van Buren,
Arkansas for the year 1977 for the maintenance of a City Public Library, under the
authority of a vote of the people of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas and the City
General Election held on the 7th day of April, 1942, be and the same is hereby
affixed at one (1) mill on the dollar of the assessed valuation of all real and
personal property subject to taxation in the City of Van Buren, Arkansas for the
year 1977 for Library maintenance purposes.
SECTION 3: The rate of all real and personal property in the City of Van
Buren,- Arkansas, for the year 1977 for the purpose of meeting the bond maturities
and interest on the bond issue, authorized by Special Election of 16th day of Dec-
ember, 1969, for the purpose of constructing and equipping the City Hall, and for
thepurpose of constructing and equipping a library, and for the purpose of purcha-
sing fire fighting apparatus, purchasing a site, or sites, for constructing buildings
to house it, be the same is hereby affixed five (5) mills on the dollar of the
assessed valuation ofall real and personal property subject to taxation in the City
of Van Buren, Arkansas, for the year 1977.
SECTION 4. A certified copy of this ordinance shall be filed in the office of
the County Clerk of Crawford County, Arkansas in order that the Quorum court of
Crawford County, Arkansas, may include :thetsame in the general levy for the year
1977, and cause the same to be extended upon the tax books and collected as re-
quired by law.
SECTION 5. This ordinance being immediately necessary to obtain revenue to
pay expenses of the City Government for the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, and necc-
essary in providing for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety, and emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be, take effect
and be in force after its passage and publication.

Treasurer of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas do hereby certify that the
attached Ordinance is a true and correct copy of the Original Ordinance
which was adopted by the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Ark-
ansas held on the: 10.- day of October 1977.
That said copy of said Ordinance is a true and correct copy of the
same Ordinance adopted at said meeting and file of record.
