A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS APPROVING
THE MAYOR FILING AN APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT SMALL CITIES PROGRAM COrPREHENSIVE GRANT FUNDS, TO BE
USED IN FINANCING CERTAIN IIOUSING REHABILITATION, INSTALLATION OF WATER LINES,
STREET IMPROVEMENTS, ACQUISITION AND REDEVELOPMENT, AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren recognizes the urgent need for improvements to
better conditions which are essential to the health, welfare and safety of
its residents.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL:
I.
That the City Council hereby authorized the Mayor to complete and submit
the necessary documents and forms in order to submit an Application to the
U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Block Grant Small Cities
Program.
PASSED AND APPROVED by majority of the City Council this 21st day of August, 1978.
