WHEREAS, The City of Van.11uren, Arkansas peeks to Improve the recreation
I faciliti.es of its City and desires to have Federal Assistance where possible; and

WHEREAS, in order to obtain the funds necessary to develop and /or improve the
site for such a recreation area it is necessary to obtain a grant from the appro-
priate agency of the United States Government; and
WHEREAS, the plans for such recreation areas have been prepared and the price
therefore has been established; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas is well aware and
hhh apprised of the above mentioned project, and that the City of Van Buren, Arkansas
will provide. the local portion of the development cont of the entire project, and t.lu
said recreation areas has been dedicated and maintained perpetually as a recreation
facility; and the City of Van Buren, Arkansas appropriated Thirty -four Thousand
Five Hundred ($3 for the project as its share of the cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS, That the Mayor of said City, or other persons acting by or under his
direction, are hereby authorized to make application through the Arkansas Depart

ment of Planning, to the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, U. S. Department of the
Interior, for assistance to develop recreational facilities for the City, therefore,
such application to be submitted as expeditiously as possible.
