Mr. Gene Haggard
Chairman, Planning Commission
Municipal Complex
Van Buren, Arkansas 72956
Dear Mr. Haggard:
The Water Department has been approached by the Post Office to take over
the duties and responsibility of naming streets and providing addresses.
We believe that street naming should be considered in all planning
deliberations, to insure continuity end eliminate possible renaming of
streets after addresses have been assigned, as there is an enormous
expense to all utility companies to chanoe their records.
With concurrence of the Planning Commission and the City Council, the
Water and Sewer Commission would be willing to accept the responsibility
of providing addresses.
Please let us know what the Planning Commission and City Council wishes
are and we will be willing to help anyway possible.
Sincerely,
Billy Bourlon
Superintendent
