RESOLUTION NO. Cbf
A RESOLUTION OF TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS,
APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
ACT ON BEHALF OF TIIE CITY IN FILING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS.
Whereas, the City of Van Buren recognizes the need for improvements to
better conditions which are essential to the health, welfare and safety
of its residents, and;
Whereas, the Urban Renewal Commission of the Urban Renewal Agency has
recommended certain activities to be undertaken utilizing Community
Development Block Grant funds.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS:
I.
That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to complete and submit
the necessary documents and forms, including assurances, in order to submit
an application to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under
the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program.
PASSED AND APPROVED By the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas
this 19th day of February, 1979.
