AN ORDINANCE REORGANIZING THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF
THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, APPOINTING A BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE FMRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Arkansas, has passed an Act
calling for a five (5) member Civil Service Commission, and
WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren wishes to retain the present three (3)
members of the Commission, plus two (2) new members,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Raymond Allen be and he is hereby appointed
on said Board of Civil Service Commission of the Fire Department of the City of Van
Buren, Arkansas,for the term ending on the 1st Monday in April of the second year after
his appointment.
That Paul Hurst be and he is hereby appointed
on said Board of Civil Service Commission of the Fire Department of the City of Van
Buren, Arkansas,for the term ending on the first Monday in April of the fourth year
after his appointment.
That Ray Gann be and he is hereby appointed
on said Board of Civil Service Commission of the Fire Department of the City of Van
Buren, Arkansas, for the term ending on the first Monday in April of the sixth year
after his appointment.
That Jackie D. Putman be and he is hereby appointed
on said Board of Civil Service Commission of the Fire Department of the City of Van
Buren, Arkansas, for the term ending on the first Monday in April of the eighth year
after his appointment.
That Bill Riggs be and he is hereby appointed
on said Board of Civil Service Commission of the Fire Department of the City of Van
Buren, Arkansas, for the term ending on the first Monday in April of the tenth year
after his appointment.
SECTION 2. That said Commission will organize and conduct business as set
forth by the laws of the State of Arkansas.
SECTION 3. That it is necessary to bring our Civil Service Commission into
confolwity with State Law and the proper regulation of said fire department is a matter
of great public concern and directly affects the peace, public safety, health and welfare
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in affect from and
after it's passage and approval.
