ORD NO 14-1979 CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS ORDINANCE NO. Q1/, 1979 AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE FOR A TENNIS COURT DIRECTOR TO TAKE CHARGE OF OUR LIGHTED TENNIS COURTS, TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO SET UP A BUILDING FOR THE TENNIS DIRECTOR, AND TO ESTABLISH COURT USAGE FEES TO BE TURNED OVER TO VAN BUREN,PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: SECTION I. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to negotiate for a tennis court director. SECTION II. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to contract for a (10' X 12') portable building for the tennis director's use; at approximate cost of $1,000 dollars, same to be paid out of City general funds. SECTION III. That effective day of ,T.,./.o, 1979, there will be imposed a dollar per hour fee on all six lighted courts owned and operated by the City of Van Buren, Arkansas. SECTION IV. Use of said fees to be used to defray the cost of operation of said tennis courts and will be deposited to the account of the Van Buren Parks and Recreation Commission, to defray the expense of this program by said commission. SECTION V. The necessity of having a successful tennis program is of the most utmost urgency. An emergency is therefore declared and this ordinance being necessary fortthe?.preservation of the p:, public peace, health, and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
