RESOLUTION NO. 1 -11 -1980
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS,
APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, FILING OF A PREAPPLICATION
AND AN APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SMALL CITIES GRANT FUNDS,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY IN FILING A
PREAPPLICATION AND AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS.
Q WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren recognizes the need for improvements
to better conditions which are essential to the health, welfare and
safety of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Commission of the Urban Renewal Agency has
recommended certain activities to be undertaken utilizing Community
Development Small Cities Grant funds.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS:
I.
That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to complete and submit
the necessary documents and forms; including assurances, in order to
submit a preapplication and an application to the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development under the Community Development Small
Cities Grant Program.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas
this 24th day of November, 1980.
