ORD NO 01-1980 Iy CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS ORDINANCE NO. ^1980 0 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8 -1963, SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS TO AMEND I -D-8. BY PROVIDING NEW I -D -8 AND TO MAKE VARIOUS AMEND- MENTS AND CHANGES IN III -G BY SUBSTITUTION AND BY ADDITIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARK. Section 1. That I -D -8 of Ordinance 8 -1963 Sub- Divison,Regulation is amended by substituting a new I -D -8. I -D -8. MASTER STREET PLAN -A plan for streets made and adopted by the Planning Commission and accepted by the City Council by ordinn me' tic, classifing certain streets within the planning area jurisdiction as Local, Collector, Arterial (Minor), Arterial (Principal). Section 2. That III -G -I of Ordinance 8 -1963 Sub Division Regulation is amended by substituting a new III -G-I. III -G -I. The allocation of right of-way for streets shall be in accordance with the Master Street Plan. III -0 -4. Street grades shall be determined according to the prevailing terrain. Sufficient grade shall be provided to assure drainage and maximum VALUE conductive to the safe operation of heavy vehicles. No street should have a finish grade of less than one -half (1/2) of one (1) percent. The maximum grade on local streets should not exceed twelve (12) percent. Section 4. That III -G-5 of Ordinance No. 8 -1962 is amended by substit- uting the following: Geometric Design Standards, Construction Design Standards, Road Standards, and other requirements, as follows: LOCAL GEOMETRIC DESIGN STANDARDS SERVICE VOLUME 2600 vpd SPEED less than 25 TRAFFIC LANES 2 -11 ft. thru lanes PARKING LANES not provided or controlled except where necessary PAVED WIDTH 27 ft. MAXIMUM GRADE 12% CROWN minimum height of curb or 6" SIDEWALKS 4 ft. minimum sidewalk on one side required within a 6 block vicinity of schools. All other areas to be graded 4 ft. back of line of curb, with a rise of 1 grade fall sloped toward the curb. CONSTRUCTION DESIGN STANDARDS SURGRADE will have a compaction of 95% according to the Modified Proctor Method, with the top 8 inches scarified and recompacted to 95 BASE, THICKNESS 6" PRIME .35 gal. per sq. yd.
