RES NO 04-04-1981 CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS RESOLUTION NO. 4 -4 -1981 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING RAYMOND ALLEN FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO 0 THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, AS A MEMBER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, Raymond Allen has been a member of the Civil Service Commission since January 3, 1956, and WHEREAS, He has served as Chairman of the five member Civil Service Commission since April, 1979, and WHEREAS, Much progress has been made during his twenty -three years of service to the Civil Service Commission and to the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, and WHEREAS, His term of service expired the first Monday in April, 1981, and WHEREAS, The City wishes to extend to him their appreciation for his efforts on the Civil Service Commission and also their wishes for a long and eventful life: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: THAT the City publicly commend, thank and congratulate Mr. Allen for the outstanding achievements accomplished by him as a member and Chairman of the Civil Service Commission and express their sincere gratitude of all the City Officials for the services rendered, and this resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 20th DAY OF April 19 81 /41 li )A .h m C ITY CLERK- ASURER RESOLUTION 4 WHEREAS, J. W. Polk, a member of the Water and Sewer Commission of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, term expires March 5, 1981; and, WHEREAS, J. W. Polk has declined to be considered for re— appointment to said Water and Sewer Commission; and, WHEREAS, it is the duty of the remaining Commissioners under the law to appoint the successor of said Commissioner, subject to the approval of two thirds of the duly elected and qualified members of the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the two remaining Commissioners of the Van Buren Water and Sewer Commission that William M. McBrayer be appointed as a member of said Commission, with said appointment to expire March 5, 1989, subject to the approval of the said City Council as above set out; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the City Council of the City of Van Buren for its approval or rejection as provided by law.
