ORD NO 18-1981 CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS ORDINANCE NO. /O -1981 AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE SALARY OF THE MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, RETROACTIVE TO JANUARY 1, 1981, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, An Act was passed and approved at the last session of the General Assembly setting the salary of the Municipal Judge of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, at $18,000.00 (eighteen thousand dollars)per year retroactive to January 1, 1981: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That retroactive to January 1, 1981, and thereafter, the salary and compensation of the Municipal Judge of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, will be the sum of eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000.00) annually, payable One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) per month, one -half thereof to be paid by Crawford County as provided by the laws of the State of Arkansas. SECTION 2. All laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. It is hereby ascertained and declared that there is immediate need in order to maintain the Court and the Adminis- tration of Justice as well as the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of said City, that said salary be so fixed and determined therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the Administration of Justice, the public peace, health, and safety and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force without delay from and after it's passage and become effective on and after June 15, 1981.
