RES NO 621-83 i RESOLUTION NO. 621 -83 A RESOLUTION OF THE URBAN RENEWAL COAMIISSION OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS. AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE BID OF Dwain Brodie FOR THE PURCHASE OF the property located at 101 and 103 South 6th Street, Van Buren, Arkansas. WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Agency was duly authorized by Resolution of the City Council of the City of Van Buren on the 3rd day of June, 1968, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, including the necessary certificate evidencing the appointment of the commissioners and designation of the first chairman and vice chairman pursuant to Acts 1945, Number 212 as added by Acts 1961, Number 40 of Arkansas; and, WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Commission was duly organized by Resolution of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Van Buren on the 9th day of October, 1968, including by -laws and terms of office; and, WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, is the owner and holder of record of fee simple title to certain real property located in the project area, and, WHEREAS, pursuant to the Urban Renewal Plan and Act 40, Acts of General Assembly, State of Arkansas, 1961, of the State of Arkansas, the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, is authorized to sell individual portions of land in the project area; and, WHEREAS, a public offering of the property lorated at 101 and 101 South Rth St on 4 -7 -83 in accordance with the approved land disposal procedures; and, WHEREAS, on April 21, 1983 the City of Van Buren received a bid of $7,560.00 from Dwain Brodie and, WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Commission finds it in the best interest of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Van Buren to accept Dwain Brollies' bid on 101 and 103 South 6th St. in the amount of $7,560.00 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE URBAN RENEWAL COMMISSION OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: I. That the Secretary and Chairman of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Van Buren are hereby authorized to execute a Special Warranty Deed for the sale of the following desposition parcel at the listed bid price. LEGAL DESCRIPTION SIZE USE PRICE Part of Lots 15 and 16, Block 4,200 sq. ft. C -1 $7,560.00 25, Original Town, Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas, described as follows: commencing at the most Westerly corner of Lot 16, Block 25, Original Town of Van Buren, Arkansas, where Webster and South 6th Streets intersect, thence Northeasterly along Webster St. 49 1/2 feet; thence at right angles in a South- easterly direction 42 1/3 feet; thence at right angles in a Southwesterly direction 49 1/2 feet to the line of South 6th St.; thence along South 6th St. in a Northwesterly direction to the point of beginning, AND commencing at the most Northerly corner of Lot 16, Block 25, Original Town of Van Buren, at a point where South 6th and Webster S intersect; thence Southeasterly along South 6th St. 42 1/3 feet for a point of beginning; thence at right angles with South 6th St. in a Northeasterly direction 49 1/2 feet; thence at right angles in a Southeasterly direction 42 1/3 feet; thence at right angles in a Southwesterly direction 49 1/2 feet to the line of South 6th St.; and thence Northwesterly along the line of South 6th St. to the point of beginning. II. That the acceptance of this bid is in accordance with the approved land disposition program.
