RESOLUTION NO. 5 -1990
A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING DATE FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF
EMMA STREET IN REA'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, Donnie Dodd and Lavita Dodd have petitioned the
City of Van Buren, Arkansas, to vacate and abandon
a portion of Emma Street in Rea's Addition; and
WHEREAS, The Petitioners own the adjoining property on the
South said of Emma Street; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of Van Buren, Arkansas, acting
under the authority of Arkansas Code Annotated,
Section 14- 301 -301 has the authority to vacate and
abandon alleys and streets:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS:
THAT, A Public Hearing is set for April 16, 1990, at
7:00 P.M. at which time said Petition shall be pre-
sented to the City Council and this Council will
determine at that time whether such portion of said
street should be vacated and that all abutting
property owners and other persons directly interested
have consented to such abandonment.
THAT, The City Clerk of Van Buren, Arkansas, is hereby
directed to give notice by publication once a week
for two weeks in some newspaper published in Crawford
County advising the property owners affected that on
said date and time that the Council will hear said
Petition.

Comes Donnie -Dodd and Lavita Dodd and respectfully pray:

Donnie Dodd and Lavita Dodd hold record title to Lots 13 through 16 Block
"F" Rea's Addition to the City of Van Buren, Arkansas.

Petitioner states that no one is now using nor will access be denied to
anyone by the non -use of the street. Being Emma St. between adjoined by Lot
24 Block I and Lot 13 Block F Rea's Addition to the City of Van Buren, Arkansas.
III
There will be no other person affected by the closing street as set out
above.
IV
Petitioners ask that the City Clerk give notice as required by law in
a publication once a week for two consecutive weeks.
V
Petitioners ask that the City Clerk and Mayor set the Petition for public
hearing and action at the earliest possible date allowed by law.
VI
Petitioners ask that at the public hearing the City Council hear and grant
the Petition together with an emergency clause enabling the action of the City
Council to become effective as soon as possible.
VII
Petitioners ask that the City Clerk and Mayor set this petition for public
hearing and action at the earliest possible date allowed by law.
