ORD NO 12-1992 CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS ORDINANCE NO. it -1992 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY'S CURFEW ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: That Section 1 of the City's Curfew Ordinance, passed May 5, 1958, is hereby amended to read as follows: "That it shall be unlawful for any person under the age of 18 years to be, or to remain in or upon any of the streets, alleys or public places in the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, between the hours of 10:30 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. Sunday through Thursday nights and between the hours of 12:30 A.M. through 6:00 A.M. Friday and Saturday nights, unless such person is accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult person responsible for or having legal custody of such minor person; or such minor's gainful employ- ment makes it necessary for such minor to be upon said streets, alleys or other public places after the said specified hours; or on a bona fide emer- gency errand sanctioned by the parent, guardian or other adult responsible for or having legal custody of the said minor. SECTION 2: That all other provisions of the 1958 Curfew Ordinance not in conflict with this Amendment shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3: That due to the necessity of having an enforceable Curfew Ordinance which will enable the City to better protect the public, and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
