RES NO 08-05-2011 CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS RESOLUTION NO. g-5- 2011 BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN ACTION FOR PROPERTY EASEMENTS FOR THE RENA ROAD WIDENING PROJECT. WHEREAS, The City of Van Buren is required to provide the necessary right of way for the widening of Rena Road; and WHEREAS, Certain easements are needed across six (6) tracts of property as shown in Exhibits "A -F" attached hereto; and WHEREAS, The acquisition of said right of way is a permitted municipal purpose for which condemnation proceeding many be initiated for the public's interest; and WHEREAS, Immediate passage of this Resolution is required because the Arkansas Highway Department will withdraw funding for the Rena Road Project if final Right -of- Way is not certified by September 2, 2011 by the City of Van Buren, Arkansas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, THAT: Section 1: The Mayor or his designated representative is authorized and directed to file the necessary condemnation action and take any other steps necessary to acquire the easements for the Rena Road Widening Project.
