BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF GOODWIN
AND GOODWIN, INC., FOR THE BOATWRIGHT
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren has advertised bids for the Boatwright Drainage
Improvements Phase II through Hawkins-Weir Engineers, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, bids have been received and opened in accordance with Arkansas law and
Goodwin and Goodwin, Inc., is the lowest bidder meeting the bid
specifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF VAN
BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Van Buren, Arkansas accepts the bid of $452,715.00, for the
Boatwright Drainage Improvements Phase II, as set forth in "Exhibit A" attached
hereto.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City
of Van Buren to pay all drainage improvement expenses,not to exceed the amounts
of the low bids submitted, as set forth in "Exhibit A"attached hereto.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the Cof Van B enrkansas,by its City Council,
did pass, approve, and adopt, by a vote of for and)tT against,the foregoing Resolution
at its regular meeting held on the 27th day of July 2026.

Enclosed, please find a copy of the certified tabulation for three (3) bids received on July
141h, 2026, for the referenced project. The low bid was submitted by Goodwin & Goodwin, Inc.
for a total contract price of$462,715.00, and the Engineer's estimate of the construction cost was
$507,200.00.
We have reviewed the bids and recommend that the City of Van Buren award a contract
for the Boatwright Drainage Improvements — Phase 2 Project to the low bidder, Goodwin &
Goodwin, Inc.for$452,716.00. We trust that this is satisfactory for your review and consideration.
