BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF STEEP CREEK,
LLC., FOR THE 26TH STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
SCHEDULE I; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren has advertised for bids for the 26th Street Improvement
Project through Hawkins-Weir Engineering; and
WHEREAS, bids have been received and opened in accordance with Arkansas law and
Steep Creek, LLC., is the lowest bidder meeting the bid specifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF VAN
BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Van Buren,Arkansas accepts the bid of$549,586.05,for the 261h Street
Improvement Project Schedule 1, as set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City
of Van Buren to pay all street improvement expenses,not to exceed the amounts of
the low bids submitted, as set forth in"Exhibit A"attached hereto.

Dear Honorable Joe Hurst:
Enclosed, please find a copy of the certified tabulation for six(6) bids received on Tuesday,
March 10, 2026, for the referenced project.
The low bid was submitted by Steep Creek, LLC for a total contract price, including
Schedule I and Schedule II of$1,289,245.85. This low bid is less than the engineer's estimate of
$1,645,290.00. However, based on previous discussions we understand that the low bid for the
total project consisting of both Schedule I and Schedule II is greater than the amount budgeted
for this project.
The low bid for Schedule I was submitted by Steep Creek, LLC for a total contract price of
$549,586.05. We understand that the low bid for Schedule I is less than the amount budgeted for
this project. Therefore, we recommend that a construction contract for Schedule I only be
awarded to the low bidder, Steep Creek LLC, for a total contract price of$549,586.05.
