A RESOLUTION TO CHANGE STREET NAMES WITHIN THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, The majority of voters have authorized the implementation and operation of an Enhanced
9 -1 -1 Emergency Telephone System which provides the capability for caller automatic
number identification and automatic location identification; and
WHEREAS, Response time for E -911 calls to police, fire and ambulance services may be delayed if
a location is not readily identifiable by the caller, dispatcher or emergency service
personnel; and
WHEREAS, There is a need to change the names of some existing street names which will assist
in locating individual roads, buildings and places for the protection of public health and
safety of all persons living, working or visiting in the City of Van Buren:
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: THAT, existing city street names be renamed as follows:
A. Airport Road to Industrial Park Road
B. Heritage Circle to South 41st Circle
C. Phillips Street to North 3rd Street
D. Faber Street to McKibben Street
E. Park Street to Lafayette Street
F. Griffin Park Circle to South 25th Circle
G. Griffin Park Road to South 25th Street
H. Beverly Drive to Walnut Street
0 I. Chicago to Jordan
J. That portion of Oliver Springs Road beginning at Pointer Trail running North
and South, and aligned with North 16th street shall hereafter be named
North 16th Street.
K. That portion of Oliver Springs Road running North and South and aligned with
North 24th Street shall hereafter be named North 24th Street.
L. That portion of Oliver Springs Road running East and West and intersecting
with the proposed North 16th Street shall hereafter be named Oliver Springs
Way.
M. That portion of Oliver Springs Road running East and West, adjacent to I-40
beginning at Rudy Road and continuing to the proposed North 24th Street
shall hereafter be named West Rudy Road.
N. That portion of State Highway 59 running North and South, beginning at Main
Street and continuing to Old Uniontown Road shall hereafter be named
Fayetteville Road.
0. That portion of Washington Street, lying South of Knox Street shall hereafter be
named South Washington Street.
P. That portion of Washington Street lying North of Knox Street shall hereafter be
named North Washington Street.
