RES NO 12-06-2025 CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS RESOLUTION NO. A_L� 2025 BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR, AND PURCHASE OF POLICE EQUIPMENT FROM AXON ENTERPRISES, INC., THROUGH A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. WHEREAS, to better serve and protect the citizens of Van Buren, the Van Buren Police Department needs to update its equipment with new tasers, supporting accessories, and training; and WHEREAS, after extensive research and inquiry, the Mayor and Police Chief have determined that most practical, feasible, and cost-effective company to purchase the equipment from is Axon Enterprises, Inc., the sole source for such equipment; and WHEREAS, the City is authorized to waive the expense and time of bidding by purchasing such equipment through a sole source contract, pursuant to ARK. CODE ANN. § 19-11-249, and the City has decided that it is in its best interest to purchase the equipment as set forth in Attachment A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION 1: The Police Department of the City of Van Buren, Arkansas, has a need to purchase tasers, supporting accessories, and training for the total sum of $248,161.33, which will be paid out over five (5) years in annual installments, as set forth in Attachment A. SECTION 2: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Van Buren to execute all documents, contracts, and agreements necessary to effectuate this action.
