BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CLERK TO ACCEPT THE RETIREMENT OF POLICE K9
KAHR FROM THE VAN BUREN POLICE DEPARTMENT
AND TRANSFER OWNERSHIP.
WHEREAS, Van Buren Police K9 Kahr is suitable for transfer and surplus based on the needs
of the department as well as the canine being at the end of its working life; and
WHEREAS, K9 Kahr and his handler, Corporal Branden Blount have provided six years of
dedicated service as a"K9 Team"to the Van Buren Police Department; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's interest to accept K9 Kahr's retirement and transfer ownership to
Corporal Branden Blount.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor and City Clerk should be and are hereby authorized to accept the
retirement of Police K9 Kahr from the Van Buren Police Department and transfer
ownership to Corporal Branden Blount.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the City of Va Buren,Arkansas, by its City Council, did
pass, approve, and adopt, by a vote of6 for and fiolagainst,the foregoing resolution at its
regular meeting held on the 24th day of November 2025.
