BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,
ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 01-01-2025
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
FOR ENGINEERING ON-CALL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF
VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 01-01-2025, on January 27, 2025, to enter into
contract with Hawkins Weir. The amount of $30,000 was approved to make various
improvements within the City to include streets, drainage,bridges,and sidewalks;and
WHEREAS, additional services for streets and drainage have put the project beyond the initial
agreement. Hawkins Weir proposes an increase of$15,000, bringing the not to exceed
amount from$30,000 to$45,000. See"Amendment No. 1"attached.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT:
SECTION l: The Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract(Amendment No. 1)with Hawkins-Weir
Engineers, Inc. to provide engineering services for the development of preliminary
engineering and designs, and cost estimates for projects. Payment for such engineering
services shall not exceed$45,000.00 plus any applicable reimbursable expenses.
IN WITNESS WHERE F, the City an Buren, Arkansas, by its City Council, did pass,
approve, and adopt, by a vote of V f for and against,the foregoing Resolution at its regular meeting
held on the 25ffi day of August 2025.

Dear Mayor Hurst:
We respectively request an Amendment to our Agreement for Professional Services, dated
January 27, 2025, for the referenced project. The purpose of this Amendment is for Additional
Services that will put the project beyond the initial agreement amount approved in January.
We propose an increase of$15,000.00 to our contractual not to exceed(NTE)fee and propose
to continue to bill the City of Van Buren in accordance with our current Standard Hourly Billing Rate
Schedule. if this Amendment is approved, our NTE fee will increase from$$30,000.00 to$45,000.00,
plus subconsultant fees and reimbursable expenses.
If our proposed Amendment is acceptable to the City of Van Buren, please indicate so by
signing and dating below and forwarding us a copy for our permanent records.
