RES NO 05-06-2025 CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS RESOLUTION M-- 2025 BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS, A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AND APPROPRIATING INSURANCE PROCEEDS FOR REPAIRS TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHT LOCATED AT HWY 282 AND HWY 64, VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO CONTRACT FOR REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS. WHEREAS, the city suffered damage to a traffic light located at Hwy 282 and Hwy 64 from an accident on August 23, 2024,which is in need of immediate repairs; and WHEREAS, the City of Van Buren obtained insurance proceeds from the accident,which will cover all of the repairs necessary. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS,THAT: SECTION l: The City of Van Buren, Arkansas, has an immediate need to repair the traffic light located at Hwy 282 and Hwy 64 for$71,533.50,from All Service Electric, Inc. SECTION 2: Pursuant to A.C.A. § 14-58-303(b)(2)(B),the City Council hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Mayor to enter into contract described in "Exhibit A"for the price set forth in Section 1 above. SECTION 3: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Van Buren to execute all documents,contracts, and agreements necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
