Call to Order/Roll Call.'Phe Van Btuen I Iistoric District Comm scion held its monthly tneeting on Thursday, October M 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the Municipal Complex. Commission members present: Vice-Chairmmi Derald Porter, Lindsay Dodson, Cathy Gifford, Paul Gibson, and Commission Secretary. Jennifer Willoughby. Commissioners Vickie Davis and Daniel Perry were absent. 2. Approval of Minutes from September 12, 2024. A motion to approve was made by Commissioner Cathy Gifford and seconded by Commissioner Paul Gibson. The motion was approved unanimously. 3. COA #12-2024-411 Main —Mother's Truckers Hats, Rebecca Layhe/David Moore; Requesting Sign Design Approval. The sign design will use colors chosen from the Historic Colors of America chart; the colors are Plat Black and Jewett White. The sign will be on the front window only and will be a vinyl decal of the store logo. A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsay Dodson and seconded by Commissioner Cathy Gifford that nothing in the proposed design significantly affects the adjacent downtown buildings. A motion to approve signage (pg. 82) was made by Commissioner Cathy Gifford and seconded by Commissioner Paul Gibson. Both motions were approved unanimously. 4. COA #13-2024-719 Main —The Hive Gxab N Go Cafe, Andrea Pena/Promise Thompson; Requesting Sign Design Approval. The sign design is for vinyl window signage and a 6ft x 2ft wood sign to be hung on the front fagade above the awning. The sign design will be the store logo and will use colors chosen from the Historic Colors of America chart; the colors are Jewett White and Jonquil Yellow. The fonts used will be Best Light and Monterchi Serif. A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsay Dodson and seconded by Commissioner Cathy Gifford that nothing in the proposed design significantly affects the adjacent downtown buildings. A motion to approve signage (pg. 82) was made by Commissioner Lindsay Dodson and seconded by Commissioner Cathy Gifford. Both motions were approved unanimously. 5. Old/New Business. 6. Adjourn.
