Call to Order/Roll Call. The Van Buren Historic District Commission held its monthly meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Planning Department Conference Room at the Municipal Complex. Commission members present: Chairman Vickie Davis, Vice -Chairman Derald Porter, Lindsay Dodson, Cathy Gifford, Paul Gibson, Daniel Perry, and Commission Secretary Jennifer Willoughby. 2. Approval of Minutes from July 11, 2024. A motion to approve was made by Cotmmissioner Lindsay Dodson and seconded by Commissioner Derald Porter. The motion was approved unanimously. 3. COA #11-2024-502 & 504 Main —Creative Furnishings By Jean/Jean &Clint Allison; Requesting To Paint Fagade Trim, Door/Windows/Awning Trim, Door, and Posts. The facade paint design will use colors chosen from the Historic Colors of America chart. The colors for the facade paint design are Historic Morning Dew for the upper trim and trim on windows and posts, Melville for the lower trim and posts, and Gedrey Green for the door. A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsay Dodson and seconded by Commissioner Derald Porter that nothing in the proposed design significantly affects the adjacent downtown buildings. A motion to approve the facade paint design (pg. 55) was made by Commissioner Cathy Gifford and seconded by Commissioner Derald Potter. Both motions were approved unanimously. 4. Old/New Business —Discussed progress being made. with the Fairview Cemetery historic headstone assessment survey CLG grant and upcoming CAMP training in Hot Sp r ngs. Commissioner Cathy Gifford also mentioned she would like the Commission to do a downtown walking tour and is interested in putting informational historic markers on downtown buildings. 5. Adjourn. A motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Paul Gibson and seconded by Commissioner Cathy Gifford. The motion was approved unatmously.
