RES NO 05-01-2024 CITY OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS RESOLUTION NO.0!; - 0 f 2024 BE IT ENACTED' BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF VAN BUREN, ARKANSAS,A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF VAN BUREN TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM OR RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAMS FUNDS. WHEREAS, Van Buren understands Federal-aid Transportation Alternatives Program or Recreational Trails Program Funds are available at 80% federal participation and 20%local match to develop or improve Downtown(Main Street) Streetscape, and WHEREAS, Van Buren understands that Federal-aid Funds are available for this project on a reimbursable basis, requiring work to be accomplished and proof of payment prior to actual monetary reimbursement, and WHEREAS, this project, using federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general public and maintained by the applicant for the life of the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF VAN BUREN,ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION 1: Van Buren will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project. SECTION 2: The Van Buren Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated project. SECTION 3: The Van Buren City Council pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas Department of Transportation to initiate action to implement this project. IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the Ci of Van Buren,Arkansas,by its City Council, did pass, approve, and adopt,by a vote of 15 for and Q against,the foregoing Resolution at its regular meeting held on the 281h day of May 2024.
