structure after 125 years of use.
Please read Historian Smith's article for an excellent description of the early day courthouses and other very good
information about this subject. It is a wonderful article. Complete sets of the Heritage Journal exist in very fev�J places to
our knowledge, one is in the personal library of Fula Hopkins and the other set is in the Crawford County 4 ienealogtcal
Library, in Alma. It is possible that Ms. Bobbie Keith of Van Buren may sti11 have her collection. Once a county
government has been put in place, next comes the establishment of villages and Post Offices.
