Dr. Johnson died July 25, 1922 in Sparks Hospi- tal, and is buried in Forest Park Cemetery, Seb. Co. Death Records Seb, Co. Phys. Rec, 1887 Ft, Smith Bus. Dir, JOHNSON, G. W., was examined and licensed by the Sebastian County Medical Board on June 20, 1883. In a letter concerning her grandfather, Dr. James M. Barry, Mrs. Hattie (Barry) Watt mentioned Dr. Johnson, saying that he lived near Miss Grace Dodd on 7th or 8th Street, in Fort Smith, Mrs. Watt said, "He had a good practice, just a good old time doctor." He was listed in the 1887 Business Directory of Fort Smith, JOHNSON, H. C., Van Buren, was listed in the 1887 Business Directory as a physician and druggist. He was examined and licensed by the Sebastian County Medical Board October 22, 1883, JOHNSON, Hugh, a brother of Dr. J. E. Johnson, Jr., of Fort Smith, was born ca 1879 in Polk County, Arkansas, the son of Dr. J. E. Johnson, Sr. and Mary (Ryan) Johnson, and died January 14, 1951 in Fort Smith. He graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in 1906 and had practiced continu- ously in the Fort Smith area following his graduation. He began practice with his uncle, Dr. "Dick" Ryan, in Fort Smith, moved to Barling and to Bonanza for short times, and back to Fort Smith. He was a past president of the Sebastian County Medical Society, 1941; a former member of the executive staff of St. Edwards Mercy Hospital; county coroner of Sebastian County for over forty years; a member of the Masonic bodies, the Kiwanis Club, on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army of Fort Smith, and a deacon in the First Baptist Church. Surviving relatives were: his wife, the former Ruth Redman; two daugh- ters, Virginia (Mrs. C. B. Rebsaman, Sr.) and Edna Jean (wife of Dr. W. H. Polk, Optometrist); and two grandchildren, both physicians and graduates of the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. Dr. C. B. Rebsaman, Jr., is practic- ing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Ruth Key (Polk) McConnon was married to Dr. Gerald Eugene McConnon who tragically lost his life in an automobile accident March 21, 1976 and is buried in the National Cemetery in Ft. Smith. Dr. McCon- non was a graduate of the University of Miami and a 1975 graduate of the University of Arkansas College of Medicine. He had served as a member of an Army Special Forces Ranger Team; was a veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of the SAE fraternity; and was serving his surgical internship at the University of Texas Medical Center in San Antonio. Survivors included his wife; his mother, Mrs. Geraldine Clark of Springsboro, Pa.; his father, Eugene McCon-
